Kerry sent me an email the other day tossing out some possibilities:
If I was to test a new Burkheimer I should try a couple new models:
the 7127-4 or the 8121-5. I see the application for both. With a shorter rod I can put the screws to a fish in tight quarters, provided the butt section is powerful enough. Have you ever cast a Burkheimer that did not have a powerful butt section? Nope. So I imagine the challenge of balancing a progressive flex with a damp, stiff tip so the rod stays quick but smooth, has been met. I imagine that if I can get my hands on the 7127-4, it could become the most used stick in my quiver. Check one out and let me know what you think.
