It’s hot. But the water is cool from a wet summer. The fish are here. Urban summer steelheading in the PNW is something I’ve avoided because I don’t like fishing around a ton of people, but we spent the day trying to flip that into touchable awesomeness. Amazing that with so many fish around, no one is out chasing them.
The Camo Sled isn’t so obnoxious with trucks passing overhead. However, shallow tailouts and ledge rock make me reconsider my choice of vessels. Cheaper to crunch rock with a drift boat, than a $350 shoe on the Merc. It does make a great casting platform for Banknote however.
Shirtsleeves, sunscreen and steelhead. Man the beer sure tastes good.
