Skagitmaster 5 Update

It has been some time since my last post here on the Skagitmaster site. With a recent upgrade, the blog is a better way to communicate with the 2000 members of this page.

To date, I have filmed on the Naknek, featuring my good friend Patricia Edel and her program pursuing HUGE rainbows using spey rods and big flies. I also chased Troy Haselip around one of his favorite desert rivers where he used a light trout spey rod and some crittery looking sculpin patterns to catch trout that are thought to be primarily bug eaters, but obviously are not. I also shot an evening’s worth of film featuring Marty and Mia Sheppard chasing smallmouth bass in a remote region of Oregon.

In April, I will travel to Montana where I will catch up with Chris Goldan and Whitney Gould. Trout spey rods are their go to tool. I want to know their thoughts on presentation, flies and other unique insights to how the world of trout fishing has changed due to the evolution of skagit style lines and their adaptation to trout pursuits.

Stay tuned. I hope to release Skagitmaster 5 as a streaming only product for new and existing members by June 15, 2021.

As always, thank you for the continued support of Skagitmaster.com
